Vim – Projects

September 26th, 2006

Some time ago I found very nice plugin for Vim. It’s name is Project.

Short description from the author:

You can use this plugin’s basic functionality to set up a list of frequently-accessed files for easy navigation. The list of files will be displayed in a window on the left side of the Vim window, and you can press or double-click on
filenames in the list to open the files. This is similar to how some IDEs I’ve used work. I find this easier to use than
having to navigate a directory hierarchy with the file-explorer. It also obviates the need for a buffer explorer because you have your list of files on the left of the Vim Window.

I must say it is really useful in my work. C++ programming using this script is as easy and convenient as KDevelop. But there is one subtle difference – it’s stable and it works :) IMHO KDevelop is a great tool in theory but when you try to write something more than simple “Hello World!” it crashes randomly every few minutes.

Few days off

The site was unavailable for a few days. I forgot to renew the domain ;)

Shame on me !

Silent Storm

September 21st, 2006

It is a “Tech” blog but any coder sometimes plays computer games, or even more than sometimes ;) That’s the point, I’ve bought Silent Storm recently and this is I’ve been missing all the time, great turn-based strategy set in WW2.
Suppose you stand on stairs and apparently a grenade bounces through the window. After a while big part of first floor falls to the cellar killing some of your troops. At the other side a sniper who shoot through wooden door. The bullet hit your medic standing at the other side then he performs a “ragdoll” and falls out the window. This is Silent Storm, great physics, realistic weapons and gameplay. This game is a “must play” for anyone who enjoyed Jagger Alliance or Fallout Tactics.

Changes

September 18th, 2006

This is the day that my previous page must be closed. It was hard to maintain it so I decided to integrate the blog with a rest of pages. Layout has also been changed and the page is more readable now.

It’s 1:30 am now so let me go to bed. I worked all the day…
